Off the line, the 911 Carrera S Cab hits 100 km/h in 4.34 s versus 4.54 s for the Z4 M40i. At this point, the 911 Carrera S Cab leads by 0.20 s and sits roughly 2 m ahead.
At 200 metres, the 911 Carrera S Cab is doing 152 km/h against 147 km/h for the Z4 M40i. The gap is 0.18 s. The gap remains stable from the start.
At 400 metres standing start, the 911 Carrera S Cab crosses the line in 12.34 s versus 12.70 s. The 0.36 s gap represents roughly 18 m of track - two to three car lengths.
Past 400 metres, the 911 Carrera S Cab continues to build its lead. At 600 metres, it runs at 214 km/h versus 205 km/h. At 1,000 metres, the 911 Carrera S Cab finishes in 22.11 s versus 22.95 s, with a 0.84 s lead.
Both rivals are electronically governed, but not at the same level: the 911 Carrera S Cab is capped at 302 km/h, the Z4 M40i at 250 (i.e. 155 mph - industry threshold) km/h. This isn’t a physical engine limit - it’s a manufacturer choice, usually for tyre safety or homologation reasons. Neither car reaches its true aerodynamic top speed.
With two combustion powertrains, the difference comes down to power-to-weight ratio (3.87 kg/hp vs 4.51 kg/hp) and transmission (Unknown vs Automatic).
In European road use (130 km/h max), both vehicles reach the legal speed limit in under 6.76 seconds. The 0.20 s difference in 0 to 100 km/h is mostly felt in motorway merging and overtaking.
