Off the line, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK hits 100 km/h in 3.98 s versus 4.98 s for the Boxster S Black Edition. At this point, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK leads by 1.00 s and sits roughly 9 m ahead.
At 200 metres, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK is doing 159 km/h against 145 km/h for the Boxster S Black Edition. The gap is 0.76 s. The challenger starts to claw back ground.
At 400 metres standing start, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK crosses the line in 11.88 s versus 13.03 s. The 1.15 s gap represents roughly 56 m of track - a gap visible to the naked eye.
Past 400 metres, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK continues to build its lead. At 600 metres, it runs at 221 km/h versus 202 km/h. At 1,000 metres, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK finishes in 21.39 s versus 23.47 s, with a 2.07 s lead.
Both rivals are electronically governed, but not at the same level: the 718 Boxster GTS PDK is capped at 290 km/h, the Boxster S Black Edition at 275 km/h. This isn’t a physical engine limit - it’s a manufacturer choice, usually for tyre safety or homologation reasons. Neither car reaches its true aerodynamic top speed.
With two combustion powertrains, the difference comes down to power-to-weight ratio (3.85 kg/hp vs 4.18 kg/hp) and transmission (Automatic vs Automatic).
In European road use (130 km/h max), both vehicles reach the legal speed limit in under 7.25 seconds. The 1.00 s difference in 0 to 100 km/h is mostly felt in motorway merging and overtaking.
Over 0–100 km/h, 718 Boxster GTS PDK wins (3,98 s vs 4,98 s).
718 Boxster GTS PDK goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,98 seconds (calibrated simulation).
