Off the line, the X6 M50d hits 100 km/h in 5.29 s versus 6.47 s for the Macan. At this point, the X6 M50d leads by 1.18 s and sits roughly 13 m ahead.
At 200 metres, the X6 M50d is doing 135 km/h against 127 km/h for the Macan. The gap is 0.76 s. The challenger starts to claw back ground.
At 400 metres standing start, the X6 M50d crosses the line in 13.62 s versus 14.70 s. The 1.07 s gap represents roughly 46 m of track - a gap visible to the naked eye.
Past 400 metres, the X6 M50d continues to build its lead. At 600 metres, it runs at 187 km/h versus 175 km/h. At 1,000 metres, the X6 M50d finishes in 24.91 s versus 26.72 s, with a 1.81 s lead.
Both rivals are electronically governed, but not at the same level: the X6 M50d is capped at 250 (i.e. 155 mph - industry threshold) km/h, the Macan at 232 km/h. This isn’t a physical engine limit - it’s a manufacturer choice, usually for tyre safety or homologation reasons. Neither car reaches its true aerodynamic top speed.
With two combustion powertrains, the difference comes down to power-to-weight ratio (5.73 kg/hp vs 7.32 kg/hp) and transmission (Automatic vs Automatic).
In European road use (130 km/h max), both vehicles reach the legal speed limit in under 10.13 seconds. The 1.18 s difference in 0 to 100 km/h is mostly felt in motorway merging and overtaking.
