Off the line, the Cayenne GTS hits 100 km/h in 5.56 s versus 5.76 s for the Stelvio Veloce. Despite the faster sprint time, the Stelvio Veloce is 2 m further along the track at this moment: stronger low-speed acceleration offsets a slower run beyond 100 km/h.
At 200 metres, the Cayenne GTS is doing 137 km/h against 129 km/h for the Stelvio Veloce. The gap is 0.10 s. The gap remains stable from the start.
At 400 metres standing start, the Cayenne GTS crosses the line in 13.70 s versus 14.12 s. The 0.42 s gap represents roughly 18 m of track - two to three car lengths.
Past 400 metres, the Cayenne GTS continues to build its lead. At 600 metres, it runs at 191 km/h versus 177 km/h. At 1,000 metres, the Cayenne GTS finishes in 24.70 s versus 26.01 s, with a 1.30 s lead.
Both rivals are electronically governed, but not at the same level: the Cayenne GTS is capped at 261 km/h, the Stelvio Veloce at 230 km/h. This isn’t a physical engine limit - it’s a manufacturer choice, usually for tyre safety or homologation reasons. Neither car reaches its true aerodynamic top speed.
With two combustion powertrains, the difference comes down to power-to-weight ratio (4.96 kg/hp vs 6.59 kg/hp) and transmission (Unknown vs Automatic).
In European road use (130 km/h max), both vehicles reach the legal speed limit in under 9.26 seconds. The 0.20 s difference in 0 to 100 km/h is mostly felt in motorway merging and overtaking.
