Off the line, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK hits 100 km/h in 3.98 s versus 4.78 s for the Panamera 4S. At this point, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK leads by 0.80 s and sits roughly 6 m ahead.
At 200 metres, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK is doing 159 km/h against 142 km/h for the Panamera 4S. The gap is 0.65 s. The challenger starts to claw back ground.
At 400 metres standing start, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK crosses the line in 11.88 s versus 12.98 s. The 1.10 s gap represents roughly 53 m of track - a gap visible to the naked eye.
Past 400 metres, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK continues to build its lead. At 600 metres, it runs at 221 km/h versus 198 km/h. At 1,000 metres, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK finishes in 21.39 s versus 23.57 s, with a 2.18 s lead.
Both rivals are electronically governed, but not at the same level: the Panamera 4S is capped at 283 km/h, the 718 Boxster GTS PDK at 290 km/h. This isn’t a physical engine limit - it’s a manufacturer choice, usually for tyre safety or homologation reasons. Neither car reaches its true aerodynamic top speed.
With two combustion powertrains, the difference comes down to power-to-weight ratio (4.23 kg/hp vs 3.85 kg/hp) and transmission (Automatic vs Automatic).
In European road use (130 km/h max), both vehicles reach the legal speed limit in under 7.26 seconds. The 0.80 s difference in 0 to 100 km/h is mostly felt in motorway merging and overtaking.
Over 0–100 km/h, 718 Boxster GTS PDK wins (3,98 s vs 4,78 s).
Panamera 4S goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,78 seconds (calibrated simulation).
Panamera 4S: 440 hp, ratio 4,23 kg/hp. 718 Boxster GTS PDK: 365 hp, ratio 3,85 kg/hp.
Panamera 4S: 275 km/h. 718 Boxster GTS PDK: 290 km/h.
